Overview

Heeler connects to Bitbucket with the permissions granted by a user with the permissions required for Heeler to perform assessments. Specifically, Heeler connects to Bitbucket using a Bitbucket username and an App password.

Obtain Bitbucket Username and App Password

  1. To find your Bitbucket username, navigate to your Personal Bitbucket settings.

  1. Navigate to Account settings to find your username under Bitbucket profile settings. Copy your Username for use later in Heeler when adding Bitbucket configuration information.

  1. Next, create an application password by navigating to App passwords and selecting Create app password.

  1. Then add permissions to the app password and select Create. The required permissions are:

  • Account: Read

  • Projects: Read

  • Webhooks: Read and Write

  1. After creating, copy the password for use later in Heeler when adding Bitbucket configuration information.

Add Bitbucket to Heeler

  1. Select Connections -> Code Organizations then select Add Code Organization

  1. Enter a Name for Bitbucket Organization.

  2. Enter the Username

  3. Paste the App Password

  4. Select Save

  1. After saving, confirm the connection is Healthy

In Heeler, select the Settings icon from the top navigation
