Linear

Overview

Heeler supports a two-way integration with Linear to create, update, and close issues. Heeler will collect additional Linear data to assist in automating issue context such as Projects, Members, and Teams.

To connect Linear to Heeler, you will need to sufficient permission to provide Heeler access to your Linear Workspace such that Heeler can

  1. View basic information about projects in your workspace

  2. View basic information about members & teams in your workspace

  3. View profile details about people in your workspace

  4. Send messages as @heeler

  5. Upload, edit, and delete issues as Heeler Security App

Adding Linear to Heeler

In the Heeler App, select the Settings icon → IntegrationsAdd IntegrationLinear.

Select the correct Linear workspace to connect if there is more than one and then scope Heeler's access to your Linear workspace. We recommend selecting All public teams. Click Authorize the connection

Once connected, you will see a confirmation message and the health of the integration will display as Healthy.

If that health changes, then navigate to the ellipsis on the right hand side and select Refresh Token. Heeler uses short-term credentials to authenticate with Linear for improved security. The credentials are refreshed in an automated, ongoing process, but failure to refresh the credentials is the most likely cause of a broken connection.

You are now able to use Linear from within the Heeler App to manage issues.
